The Bridge Assisted Learning Schools opened the doors of it’s first school in Lonehill in January 2018, filling a niche demand in education by catering to students who face certain learning barriers and social or emotional challenges. Today we are proud to have two schools, one in Lonehill and the other in Morningside (starting in January 2024).

Children of The Bridge School are often not catered for in a mainstream educational environment. The Bridge School caters for students with average to above-average intellectual ability and learning potential. For students whose learning is impacted by challenges such as ADHD, dyslexia, anxiety, or children who have been through illness or trauma which has affected their scholastic progress, The Bridge School has been a lifeline.

A neurodiverse approach is followed at The Bridge, ensuring that these students are included, catered for and receive the additional support they require. When students join our school, we believe that they are taking the first step toward their best future. The Bridge caters for pre-schoolers in the form of Grade R, all the way to Grade 12. Details of the available Grades at each of our schools can be found on the campus-specific page.

At The Bridge Assisted Learning School, we know that each student is on a personal path leading them to their future. We provide students with the kickstart they need to get them to Matric and beyond, whether it is to tertiary studies or setting them up to pursue their own path.

"My journey at The Bridge started in 2020 when I left my first teaching job in search of growth and bigger challenges. In the time I have been teaching at The Bridge, I have grown as a teacher and a person in more ways than one. Working in a school that offers Grade R to Grade 10, one would think there would be a natural divide in the workforce between each phase, but I have never experienced such synergy as I have here at The Bridge. Sharing your understanding and overcoming these barriers is the best way to ensure your work environment has a shared passion and a shared goal. Being surrounded by learners of different ages and with different learning barriers has allowed me to find a deeper understanding of how learning is not linear. The challenge that comes with that is finding new and exciting ways to differentiate what is being taught in class and how to reach each student equally. I feel like The Bridge has equipped me with finding these solutions."
