Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Afrikaans Teacher to join our team at The Bridge Morningside. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating engaging lesson plans, teaching students how to read, write, and speak Afrikaans, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Afrikaans curriculum that meets the needs of all students
- Plan and deliver interactive and engaging lessons that promote student learning and development
- Assess student progress and provide feedback to students, parents, and administration
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that values diversity and promotes respect
- Collaborate with colleagues to support school-wide initiatives and events
- Attend professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in Afrikaans education
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification in Afrikaans
- Previous experience teaching Afrikaans at the elementary, middle, or high school level
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students
- Knowledge of effective teaching strategies and assessment practices
Preferred Qualifications:
- B.Ed degree in Education or a related field
- Experience teaching Afrikaans as a second language
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds
- Remedial Experience
